About our workshops
With the support of our in-house technical expertise and other volunteer technical professionals, we help nonprofit organizations understand and implement best practices for making data part of their impact journeys. Through both virtual and in-person hands-on lab workshops specifically designed for both nonprofit technical and programmatic staff, we provide an outlet for organizations to engage with peers to share learnings, and provide a forum for individualized discussion and troubleshooting.
In addition to topics like ingest, analytics, reporting/visualization, and machine learning, we take suggestions and feedback from participants to create workshops tailored to the specific needs of nonprofits as their data and technical challenges and capacities continue to evolve.

Data science life cycle workshop
The Cloudera Foundation technical team and Cloudera, Inc. volunteers hosted 30+ nonprofits during the virtual NetHope Summit. Nonprofit staff learned about tools, best practices, and recommendations for navigating the full data science life cycle, from collection to visualization.

Nonprofit data challenges
In San Juan, Puerto Rico, leaders and technical staff from nonprofit organizations around the world joined interactive roundtables with Cloudera Foundation staff and data experts from Cloudera, Inc. and DataKind. Volunteers worked with participants to troubleshoot real-world data challenges.
